Theatre Ventidio Basso
The Teatro Ventidio Basso is located in Via del Trivio, in front of the Chiostro Maggiore, a few steps from Piazza del Popolo. The façade is in Neoclassical style. The theatre is named after the General Publio Ventidio Basso, a native of Ascoli who lived in the I century BC and distinguished himself inside the Roman military hierarchy. Ventidio Basso was one of Marco Antonio’s main lieutenants and obtained the honors of triumph for his brilliant victories against the Parthians in 39-38 BC.
